Just wanted to post a heartfelt Thank You to all the people who came out and made us a part of your Free Comic Book Day. I know some of you travelled great distances to stop at our store, and I appreciate that you made the trip. I hope we didn’t disappoint. It was my absolute pleasure getting to meet many of you for the first time, as well as getting to say hello to longtime (relatively speaking) customers again after a while. Thank you!
The crew at The Shoppes at Medford Mill, including my fellow small business owners and neighbors, could not have shown us more support and love. I hope it was a fun day at the Mill for everyone. Thank you all! The event space in there is absolutely fantastic, and if you’re local, I can’t recommend it enough. As you can see, it is a versatile space with a lot of potential!
The two raiders from the Raquor'daan Clan of New Jersey were… I was honestly going to write “troopers” but was afraid it was too on the nose. You guys were awesome, and The Mill would be happy to have you back! Really appreciate everything you brought to the day, absolute pros!
My Mom and Dad filled in for my usual pit crew (my kids had a conflicting event), and I would be ashamed to not thank them for running around to pick up the pizza, the deodorant I desperately needed, and helping with the set up / clean up. You guys are great! Thank you!
As I probably repeated too many times today: this was Mutation’s first FCBD with a place to host. I had some grand ideas that hit the cutting room floor due to limited time and bandwidth for my first go-around. I hope in the future to do raffles and door prizes, probably a special swag bag for the first 20 people, etc.
I would love to have a local comic creator(s) and artists in to sign and meet people. I just didn’t feel prepared for that this time and did not want to let anyone down. With one FCBD under the belt, I believe we can do more next time!
The decision to have comic bins set up was last minute. I figured more inventory under the roof for sale was better than less. Unfortunately, I did a bad job of putting any sort of signage on that stuff to let people know what was up. That was on me, and I’ll correct that in the future!
Overall though, I had an incredible day that exceeded any and all expectations. Thank you for your support, and I hope we can continue to grow for you! I truly hoper everyone had a great Free Comic Book Day!
